owned this car this car sice november 2008, after acquiring it from my mother. | It is mechanically sound and runs very well. | Mot till july 2012 and taxed till to end of june 2012. | Since then it has covered only 9000 miles and has only been used once or twice a week to go shopping. | it has been kept in a garage for the past three years. | When i got this car it had had a new mohair roof around 2005. | It has a part service history with stamps in book upto November 2001. | it was last had a full service in september 2010. since then it has been serviced by myself with plugs oil and air filter replaced once a year. | In the last year the car has had the following done. | New washer pump | Break pads break disks replaced june 2011 before last mot | New indicator relay. | New radiator fan | 4 new tyres at last Mot | Cambelt and alternator belt were replaced at last M.O.T at 125260 miles. | It is booked in to have break servo replaced on wednesday next week. | The interior is in lovely condition apart from a bit of where and tear on the drivers seat bolster. And the carpet has come away slighty on passenger side by door. | Now the bad points. The body work needs some TLC. The car could do with a complete respray, it has the usual stone chips that you would expect from a car that is 22 years old. | There is some rust bubbling up by the rear pillars and some small rust spots else where. | The worst of the rust is below the windscreen on the drivers side and the passenger side. the doors also have some slight rust spotting. The front panel has also rust spotting up on it. | the front a rear bumpers have been touched up a little they had some slight scuffs so were filled sanded and sprayed, These are not perfect but alot better than they were. | the passenger side door has dropped about half a cm but i am told this is an easy fix. | There is no aerial on this car as it was snapped off by some local yob. there is a new one in boot ready to be fitted. It will also come with Jvc cd player with line in for ipod on front. I have been totally honest about this car. This Beetle looks really great in Black, the paintwork is in very good condition and is very shiny, it is in absolutely superb condition for a ten year old car. There is matching panels all around which confirms the HPI report that this vehicle has not been in any major accidents. As you would expect with a VW there is no rust whatsoever. The interior is in A1 condition also as you can see in the pictures, there are no rips or tears in the seats which are clean and fresh and do not sag. Everything is very clean and bright, feels very solid and works as it should. You can instantly tell the build quality of the VW cabin and there is plenty of space inside. bought this van at the start of the year after it was imported by another person ,i have since redone the brakes ,fuel lines ,balljoints,track rods,throttle cable ,fuel pump ,drive shafts ,electrics ,new tyres,lights you name it it s had to be sorted to get it running and a moted ,i got it reg,ed for the uk so all that side of things is done ,i also fitted a brand new empi quiet pack exhaust that looked nice and shinny for about 50 miles then the paint burned of it and it now looks brown ,not what i expected .the body is straight bar a few dents on the nose and bumpers , it is 99percent rot free with only surface rust on the roof and pillers ,the doors, arches,sills outrigers etc are PREFECT .this van will not need to see a welder for many years ., it looks near new underneath .the outside paint work is ok its not show winning but its defo not the worst that i have seen .inside it has porsche seats fitted up front and a rockn roll bed in the back ,and a table its basic but thats how i wanted it ...also in this van the heating does work and there is a good stream of hot air coming into the cab .also its had new window rubbers and rear tints on the windows ,the bus drives really well on the road it will happy sit at 55-65mph and i have even managed a few overtakes in it ...rare eh lol,i use this bay everyday on the school run ,shopping ,dump run and it never lets me down it really is a great reliable van that wont need much done to it over the next few years ,just jump in and enjoy ,all it really needs are the door ,and rear hatch seals doing as they have seen better days but still work fine ,if your looking for a rot free van then this defo needs to be on your list to look at .there is loads more but thats enough info this now ,if ya want anymore pm me and i will sort it out .i will take any photo of it that u would like as i have nothing to hide on it ...,remember this is NOT a project bus its mot,ed taxed and running well with all the hard work down ... i took my van into my work and got it up on the ramp for some pics underneath as that is what everone wants to see on these bays and i dont think it will disapoint ,it looks amost new underneath even the mechanical parts look spot on ,i looked at a few bays before i bought this one and to be honest i bought it of the pics the guy sent me ,it was a project van not running and needing complete going over of everything ,so i donr the following 1.new disc ,pads seal kit s in calipers new flexi brake hosesfront wheel bearingsballjoints trackrods new headlights repairs to heater cables ,tubes ,exchangers porcshe learher seats fitted up front new window seals and windoe tints new door locks and handles new cv boots x4 new fuel lines (all)new fuel pump and filterrear brakes where cleaned adjusted ,new rear lights ,complete ,new side marker lights new engine bay seel new fuel ecu relay (mega ££££)new 3 point seat belts (all round )new mirors new steering bearing and bushes plugs ,oil ,filter ,rot arm and cap new engine mounts the engine was removed and stripped to the block as it had a few oil leaks,i suspect the engine had either been rebuilt of was a recon and the pistons and the bores where in very good clean condition (still very silver looking ) you could even still see the hone marks on the bores ,...i can never prove this but when i bought the van i was more than prepaired to replace the engine or rebbuild it and was very surprized at the condition of it ...and i think that shows when you drive it as it will pull the van along very well and will sit happy at 65mph which is fast enough for me .inside i put in a very simple interia as i wanted to use the van for the last few weeks of summer ,it has new foam ,JK campers rocknroll hinges fitted to a wood base bed ,a new table and a buddy seat ,its simple but that how i wanted it ,my plan was to get a proper interia for it ...like a westy one from a show or the internet as nothing fits better than the proper stuff .the van started as a 1978 mirobus 2.0 L fuel injection engine the FI they call it ,from the sunny state of california ,when i got it it still had the seats in the back ,that was all stripped out and the cargo floor was cleaned and it was prefect no rust ,in fact i never had to put a welder near it which was a surprise .the body would need a paint theres no point in lying about it ,(still looks ok at a distance but up close it would need a tidy ,defo not the worst but )the nose has some dents in it and filler (not because of rust holes just dents ) and the rear drivers corner has had a dent knocked out and filled (done well but i know its there )the rest of the van is great with rust free doors ,rear engine hatch ,rear boot door ,and slideing door all prefect and rust free ,the roof has surface rust all over but its not bad at all looks far worse than it is ,i am maybe trying to undersell it but i would rather make it sound worse than it that way u wouldnt be disapointed ,.there is prob lots more but that s all i can think of this now ,in a nut shell its a very solid bay ,that has not been mucked about and hacked with it runs and drives well ,mot,ed taxed I’m selling only because after 3 years hard graft in the garage it’s finally time to get my T2 back on the road!!The electric mirrors only work on a horizontal axis, the motors are both fine but the glass has become un-attached vertically. Every forum I’ve looked at warns against trying to fix them as you will almost certainly break the glass. As a solution it is recommended that you push bubble wrap behind the glass to stop them vibrating, which is what I’ve done.Everything else is in fully working order. Some slight blemishes have been properly prepped, primed and sprayed with a close match color. See photos.-NO RUST!Rear tyres will need changing at some point but are good for MOT (3mm).You can pick up used alloys with good tyres for about £200 so I’d do that if I was going to keep it. There are loads on gumtree and ebay.My justification for the steels without trims is that they are more fuel efficient than alloys, a little heavier, but more Aerodynamic than alloys which ‘whisk’ the air. Tax until 31/05/2012. It was last serviced less than 70 miles ago (Full service including air/fuel/pollen/oil filters). The cam belt was replaced at 100,209 miles. Two previous owners.It comes with sports seats, climate control, 6 speed gear box, on board trip computer, and being the GT model it is very quick whilst remaining cheap to insure/run. On the motorway I reguarly got over 57mpg - it is the perfect combination of power/economy. One years tax is just £130. top of the range Mk5 Golf diesel golf at the time. Please don`t confuse this model with the lesser 140bhp GT non sport car. There are several desirable enhancements over that model that compliment the improved performance, ie bigger GTi brakes and 15mm lower supension from the GTi, all fitted at the factory. There are also cosmetic differences too, like the dark headlights, all black grill, rear privacy glass, twin s/s exhaust pipes, etc etc. It’s Tornado Red and 3 door. I’m the second private owner, the first being a female who bought the car new according to the V5. I bought it cash from a dealer so there is zero finance due on the vehicle, it is also HPI clear. I have my original purchase receipt and all servicing receipts from new. It has a FVWSH, was serviced on 25/08/11 @ 51980 miles and has just had all four of the injectors replaced on 24/11/11 @ 53761 miles under the VW recall. The timing belt, tensioner, and guides etc, were replaced on 26/01/12 it also had the belt driven water pump replaced too, so they won`t need looked at for another 4 years or 60k miles. It is currently sitting at 54901 miles but this will go up as I am still using the car. With the preferred sporty 3 three door body, it is Tornado Red and is fitted with full grey Vienna Leather heated electric seats. I don’t know if the following features are extra, but it has a leather centre armrest with storage and roller door cup holder with the VW bottle opener, three rear headrests, rear armrest and ski hatch. It also has the RCD300 radio cd that plays MP3`s. Also worth noting is that this car has NEVER been smoked in or used to carry pets.In addition to the very high standard spec, it has the Winter Pack, which includes electrically heated front seats, heated windscreen washer jets, headlight washers, larger washer fluid reservoir and a low washer fluid level warning light.Extra to the above it also has Luxury Packs 1 and 2 which include.The coming/leaving home lighting function. By timer or remote control the headlights and door mirror puddle lights will illuminate at night-time helping you to find your wayin the dark. The pack also includes a rain sensor for the wipers and an automatically dimming interior rear-view mirror to prevent dazzle from following cars. The exterior heated door mirrors can be folded back electrically with the driver’s door mirror having an automatic dimming function, and the passenger’s having a reverse activated kerb-view adjustment, excellent for saving the standard GT Sport`s 17" VW Classix alloy wheels! A dusk sensor will automatically switch the headlights on in poor or fading light. Overall the car is in top condition inside and out. But, like any used car it does have a couple of minor faults. A few tiny stone chips on the paintwork that have been touched in. A tiny car park ding on the nsr wheel arch, and the decorative engine cover is not very secure (it quietly vibrates a bit), a common fault I`ve been told, but that`s it. No other faults.There are two working remote keys, full owners folder with all service and parts receipts going back to when the car was new. The alloy wheels are in good condition with only a couple of very minor marks, tyres are all fairly good with recent Dunlop SP Sport (7mm) on the front and Pirelli P6000 (4mm) on the rear. The car is fitted with genuine VW mudflaps front and rear and genuine VW fitted rubber mats. It also has a "Swan Neck" type towbar with single electrics. There has been no alterations to the bodywork to get this to fit, ie the bumper has not been cut, and it can be removed by taking out two bolts. This looks like it has never been used, certainly not by me, but it could be a handy thing to have. The car is MOT`d until 26th Jan 2013 and taxed until August this year. Overall the car runs very well and is also very economical with the engine sitting at only 2000rpm at 70mph in 6th gear, this gives approx 45-50 mpg on the motorway, or near 600 miles to a tank of fuel. The car has obviously been well cared for throughout it`s life and cherished by it`s previous owner and myself, with regular hand washing and waxing using the best of products. If anyone wants to view it, it is located in Cumbernauld near Glasgow where it spends the cold winter nights in a centrally heated carpeted garage under my house.(Yes really!) Obviously, if the car is so good why am I selling? Well, when I bought it last year (April 2011) I really wanted a Scirocco, but they were a lot more expensive. Unfortunately I also needed a new kitchen and central heating boiler. It was either a Scirocco and nothing else or the Golf and both. Sensible head on, I bought the Golf. Ever since I have been saving like a man possessed, and now it`s time to treat myself to a Scirocco. If anyone has a Rising Blue 2.0L they are selling please let me know.
