This T4 has 3 previous owners, and I've owned her for nearly 3 years, the previous owner had her for 6 years. There is a history file demonstrating all owners have looked after her well.
Factory 7 seater with useful arm rests all round. The rear and middle factory seats fold flat to form a base for a mattress. I bought an inflatable mattress and pump (using cigarette lighter) - the winning bidder will have the option to buy these from me on collection if they wish.
Included in auction are a full set of VW T4 window screens, shaped to each of the individual windows providing 100% privacy and fantastic insulation.( It can be freezing outside and lovely and cosy inside!
The Caravelle has been my pride and joy taking me on many journeys and has never missed a beat. Following advice from a friend while looking for a suitable vehicle I wanted one without internal cooker etc as most of the time its used a day vehicle, and cooking smells/effects the head lining. Plus you lose about 25% mattress width. This vehicle has sliding doors on BOTH sides giving great access. I was also pleased for the advice to buy a rear tailgate model rather than double doors... just giving a little shelter from the odd shower. Also my friend having sound proofed, insulated and carpet fitted his own T4 conversion advised to get one already done by the people who do it best - VW. The other tip I was given was if you want a German made VW in it will have an "H" in the chassis number (indicating it was made in Hanover). Some are not German made.
Its the extremely reliable, rare and sought after six cylinder 2.8 V6 petrol engine, which means is has a chain not a cambelt so you will not find yourself in that awful situation of needing a new block if a cambelt fails. A very comfortable drive and cruise, made easier with automatic transmission.
I have just had a new MOT carried out, all that was needed was new wiper blades. Tax has however just expired.
The vehicle comes with the fantastic VW ventilation system which means the middle and rear passengers can have independent ventilation. Try finding this in a Transporter or Kombi panel van! The vehicle has Air Conditioning although it needs re-gassing to operate, I've never used the air-con, preferring to use the windows.
There are 2 sets of central locking keys with the vehicle.
The centre row of seats come out in seconds if you need to shift a fridge or washing machine. Take the back seats out and you've got a Transit size load area that takes a sheet of 8x4'. The interior trim is in excellent order as you would expect with the build quality of VW. No major tears, burns, stains or rips. Whilst I've never used it, she is fitted with a towbar.
Clear front indicators, colour coding mirrors and bumpers and professional tinted windows make her pleasant to the eye, also fitted with rear parking sensors to help keep the back end free from dings.
Sale includes a face-off CD player with 12disk multi changer - located under the passenger seat, not in the boot!
I have previous MOTs and a pile of receipts for various work over the years, including a large bill for gearbox reconditioning just before I bought her. The tyres are all good, she has recent brake work all round, new water pump and I had a Stainless steel full exhaust fitted not long after I got her - lifetime guarantee so wont need doing again.
The body work is in very good condition and gets many admiring glances while travelling and many compliments from passers-by. This vehicle looked and drove superbly when I bought it and still does!
