restoration it will need new foor pans which come with the vehicle the heat channels need changing which will need to b purchased.The shell it self is pretty solid with only a few patches which I have started to sand rust proof and prime.The engine is in excellent running condition but fuel tank has been removed which I have. I have replaced with new, distributor cap, ht leads, spark plugs, pancake air filter, new oil and new zoom tube exhaust all done at the end of last year 2011. Unfortunatly the gear box wont go into gear but have been told by classicdub that it may need gear oil changing.I have stripped the inside out ready to do floor pans ect but ran out of time before the early evenings started, it has been kept dry stored in a garage with a cover on it (also include in sale) since I`ve owned it.If i was to sell as parts i would get over £700 as the engine is in fully working condition but i dont want to as betty could be put back on the road with a bit of welding and tidying so grab your self a bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1I have the v5 document. file containing the original bills, invoices, test certificates, tax discs from when the car was new, It even has the original bill of sale from when brand new-showing the original spec and colour of the car. I have spent 2 years carrying out a complete body off restoration with dozens of photos to document this, (please dont confuse this with the many so called restorations which are little more than patches welded over rotten holes and finished with filler and a paint job that I keep seeing). Where ever there has been need for new panels they have been replaced not repaired or patched and all external seams correctly sealed which makes the car look completely original and immaculate underneath. It has had new heater channel/sills complete both sides, new front and rear valence panels, new bulkhead/toe panel, new floor pans left and right plus many many more, There is no corrosion whatsoever left in the bodyshell. It has then been etch primed, lightly stoneguarded within wheelarchs and underneath and refinished in the original marine blue as it was supplied in this colour from new, It is painted inside as well as out and on the underside of the wings, in wheel arches,inside door shells, under bonnet and boot. There is no nasty underseal under it at all. It is also protected with the correct cavity wax in all box sections, doorshells etc, and gallons of dinitrol underbody wax underneath and under the wheelarches. The interior is about 90% new with new soundproofing,headlining, new seat coverings and foams and new complete quality carpet set. New rubber seals have been fitted to all windows, doors, bonnet,boot and engine tin seal. Brake cylinders and hoses are all new as are hub seals, Any other running gear components Showing signs of wear have been replaced also. Engine has had a refresh and paint, it has new seals, bearings(mains,big ends and cam), piston rings, valves. Brand new carburettor, distributor, lead set and fuel pump have also been fitted. New front and rear bumpers are also fitted. many many more new parts also fitted see photo for invoices. I will test it for twelve months if price is met, viewing is welcome( I am Just north of Sheffield, M1 Jn 35a), Test drive only if insured and deposit left otherwise I will have to drive. She is a good little economical runner, I use her daily and will continue to do so until she is sold so the mileage will be slightly higher when she goes. Nice and cheap to insure and best of all, tax exempt. Although the log book states she is a 1300 engine I was told when I purchased her, that she now has a 1600 engine and I have to say she certainly drives like she has, but I have no paperwork to corroborate that. The MOT runs until 12 October 2012 and as stated she is tax exempt. As can be seen from the photos the V5 is present along with the many receipts for the work I have had done on her since I have had her. This includes replacing the fuel pipe from front to rear, replacing brake master cylinder, brake shoes, replacing brake flexi hoses, rear shock absorbers, distributor, underseal and full service to name a few things. I have also had all the necessary welding done on her for the last MOT so no worries there. The heater channels are in good condition (not rusted) but they are not connected so currently no heating. She is not a show winner by any stretch of the imagination but she is a tidy little car inside and out. As can be expected for a car of her age she has small spots of rust, some of which has had red oxide painted over as a precaution against the great British weather but still looks nice. Since owning her I have added the gorgeous towel rail bumpers with extra indicators. She has a custom parcel shelf with built in speakers and custom shelf in the front. These are origional and wont be found in any other beetle. More importantly as we come into winter she new heat exchangers. Following the MOT she has been fitted with new brakes, clutch and clutch cable. Very solid underneath. MOT and tax both expire in may. Other features include immobiliser, CD player and spare wheel. Origional service manual, beetlesUK info and instruction guide included. As you would expect with a car over ten years old there are age related marks on the body work. I have done my best over the years to treat and maintain these, the worst bits can be seen in the photos. There are also a few stone chip marks on the bonnet. I would imagaine that most if not all of this could be sorted out by someone with more time and space than myself. Recently she has developed a rattle. I beleive it may be a small bolt or something which is rattling around but I cant identfy where it is. This has not affected her driving but will probably need investigating. Life was good and he continued to save up until his 40th birthday arrived. He had seen a Beetle in a local garage which the owner agreed to renovate for him, so he could achieve his lifetime`s ambition and become a VW Beetle owner. The day arrived and he picked up his lovely new car, driving round like a teenager with a big smile on his face. The engine sounded just as a VDub should, the paintwork glistened in the sparkling sunlight and the little VDub, whom he christened Hernia, received admiring glances from all and sundry. She was beautiful. She had an all new leather interior in red and black and was fitted out with the finest carpet and small sporty steering wheel. She had black alloy sporty wheels and drove like a graceful old lady. Then came the fateful day. In order to buy Hernia, it had been agreed that the wife would use the large, expensive family car for travelling to and from work. After owning Hernia for only one month, a phone call was received and the wife told those fateful words, "I`VE HAD A CRASH!" Bugger, thought the little boy, she`s only got 3rd party insurance! The estimate for the family car was obtained for repairs, (£5.3k) and so it came to pass that Hernia must be sacrificed for the greater good. The 40 year old had achieved his dream, (at least for a month) and ensured that harmony remained in the household. Hopefully, they can all llive happily ever after!?!?!?!? Please buy my Beetle, ensure the Mrs doesn`t have to feel guilty for any longer! It needs to go so I don`t gain any further attachment and the ties can be severed quickly! by the previous owner. It starts and runs fine and I`ve cleaned out the petrol tank, fuel line, and carburettor and fitted a brand new fuel pump.There is a Kadron exhaust fitted which gives a sporty exhaust note, and can easily be changed back to a standard exhaust if you wish.The car was on the road until the middle of 2011 when the previous owner purchased a sports car so didn`t need the beetle any more. It will need a small amount of welding to the front of the floorpan on the passenger side. Other than that it all appears solid as it has had welding previously done in the usual beetle areas! The spare wheel well has been replaced and is very solid.The bodywork of the car is good, and it will polish up well with a little bit of effort. Whilst there are a few surface rust scabs on the wings and a few on the doors, the main bodyshell is in great condition. You could certainly run it as it is and touch up those bits easily. There is no rear bumper but these can be picked up very easily and cheaply.The brakes and clutch work well as I have tested them on a private drive.The interior is in good condition. The headlining is un-ripped and very clean. The front seats were replaced by a previous owner for Polo seats and are very comfy. They will need a bit of adjustment though as I can`t get them to move backwards or forwards. Rear seatbelts have been fitted which is a bonus!It will not take much effort at all to get this car back on the road but due to starting a new job I realise I just won`t have the time as I`ll be working long hours so unfortunately I have to let it go to pastures new.I took a walk-round video of the car with the engine running here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kouks_EHtOM&feature=youtu.be The car comes with a folder full of receipts etc. for previous work done etc. which is always good to see. he`ll be as fun and faithful to his new owner as he`s been to me and so will be as loved and respected as he once was before...blah blah blah...Its like this; Bought it as a project in 2003. It had sat un-moved for 5 yrs and was battered and a non runner. The car had clearly undergone a few previous minor resto`s . After usual neccessary surgery- heavilly rusted areas removed and new steel welded in, floor pans, front clip, heater channels, front wings, (reciepts for all panels used) and fully and thouroughly undersealed. I renewed the whole braking system (retaining the original 4 drum set up), replaced all wheel bearings, shocks, suspension rubbers, track rod ends, steering arm, tyres, did the 12v conversion, got the engine running and all covered in grey primer it breezed its 1st MOT with flying colours and a testing station full of approving nods.It then became a rolling resto with many an hour spent and much of my cash too, being used daily and famously reliably for the next 7 yrs. He was at his best in around 2006.By this time he had a full engine recon, new 009 dizzy, petronex ignitor, 4 branch manifold (no heater pipes), Bugpack fatboy muffler, SSP adjustable front beam, new steering box, poly roll bar bushes, new clutch & pressure plate with heavy duty retaining clips, new solex carb, new fuel pump, Goodrich performance braided steel brake hoses, Tim dash gauges, Empi 5 spoke alloys, lowered rear suspension, leather seats, Empi Tbar short throw gear stick, leather Moutney 3 spoke steering wheel, Securon 3point harnesses, new carpets, sunvisors, exterior chrome trim, rear lights, etc. etc, etc. He now looks very tired and tatty but only came off the road a year ago having passed the last MOT (still with flying colours) a year proir to that, so mechanically its pretty good. I bought a new battery and fired up the engine a month or so ago. It was reluctant (drained a full battery) but once running was strong and didn`t miss a beat and would eagerly restart once turned off. All the mods above are still on the car, the recon engine having covered around 20.000 miles.It has no MOT, It has dents, and bits of rust, the electrics although all working are a tangle of wierdness and its a mess inside and out with perhaps even evidence of straw or hay in the engine bay and i`m not going to clean it up for sale, if I had time to do that i`d keep it. new in Germany on the 26.07.2000 on registration DNPF27 to a lady who then took the car to the Isle of Man, and registered it there on the 26.04.2001 where she used it until selling it to the Lady we bought it from, she has owned the car since 18.09.2005, the car is still registered, and Taxed in the isle of Man, i have all the paperwork to register it in Spain,or anywhere in Europe, or you could keep it registered in the Isle of man, which may be of interest as they do not need an MOT, as The isle of man do not have mot`s, so it would be fully legal to use elsewhere, as the car has to be fully legal in the country that it is registered to be legal in Spain. The car drives perfect, it is the 2.0 engine 115 BHP so plenty of power, it has only covered 95034 kilometers, which is 58614 miles the speedo is in Kilometers and the headlights are LHD spec so easy to register in Spain. The interior is very clean no damage, it has Radio/ Cassette and a 6 disc cd changer in the boot, 2 keys both remotes, central locking, electric windows, and has air/con all in full and good working order. The external paintwork is clean and bright, in silver metalic, there are some age related faint scratches that would polish out, there is a key type scratch across the bonnet only done recently, this could be done by chips away, or scratch master or similar, there is no dent just a scratch, the car really does look great, and if you did put the car on Spanish plates would look well as it would get the new reg (H) so would look newer as silver never really ages. All the Tyres are near new, 3 of the VW emblems are missing from the wheels only stick on and can be bought off ebay very cheap. Cash on collection, or I am quite happy to store this car for you if your not in Spain yet, but would require a £250.00 deposit, i can collect you from the airport, and will assist in the re reg to Spanish if required, as this car is not Spanish registered you do not need an NIE to buy it. The private plate is in the process of being removed and the beetle will be put back on the original 51 plate.
