two are about 500 miles old. I have fitted a third party sat nav/bluetooth stereo with AM/FM cd player, USB fitment allowing direct plus in to IPhone/Ipod, and SD card slot. Sat nav maps are included on an SD card and it works perfectly fine. | Van has recently had a gearbox overhaul as they are a weak point in these, I had a new fifth gear cog complete with bearings and diff bearings completed recently, I will dig out the receipt for this. This updates the van to ensure it continues to run perfectly fine and removes the weakspot in the gearbox. I have also fitted rear parking sensors with audible beep speaker in the back of the van. Van comes with partial service history from previous owner, I serviced it myself 4 months ago with new filters all round, oil and battery. | Van runs perfectly and apart from sorting the gearbox I havent had any problems since changing the battery, starts first time and is superb on fuel. | Van weas originally dark blue but the original owners sprayed it light blue to fit with their company. I can include a set of roof bars if the buyer wants them free of charge. Rear of van is plyboarded. | As per photo there is one main mark to paintwork ad thats simply from a screwheard on the plyboarding that wasnt quite tight enough, this has been fixed and would cost about £100 to get sprayed. Van graphics are easliy removed with a steam cleaner or good jetwash. It will be a very nice car when its finished. The car would not take a lot to get running just needs a few pipes putting back on and has a small hole in the fuel tank, it has got 18 inch alloys two brand new tyres and two part worn tyres. It has stainless steel twin exhausts which run down the sides of the doors. It has VR6 leather seats but the interior needs a good clean. This car has a few dints, scratches and cracks in the paint. It has a stainless steel roll cage. When i got the car the guy i bought it off had fully rebuilt the engine and since then i have put a new set of injectors in it. was sound. The only bit of welding that needed doing was by the driver’s side floor pan. It had always been regularly serviced and well maintained. The previous owner had it for many years and used it for light duties only. I consider the mileage to be low for it’s age. It was just over 107k when I bought it. I have added a couple of pics to show some of the work being done! Mileage is currently 107,891. | The body was stripped and sanded, all the little dings were pulled and the whole thing was given 7 coats of piano black paint and lacquered so it is nice and shiny. The perspex bubble window was too hard to see through so it was replaced with a new sliding window from Just Caddys. | The original wheels were shot blasted and powder coated shiny black to match. I added white wall trim inserts. The tyres have plenty of tread on them. | The bull bar, rear window guard and rear light guards were all shot blasted and powder coated. I have decided not to put the bull bars on the front but they are included in the sale if you like the look of them. Where the bull bar was removed it left holes in the original front bumper so I replaced it with a genuine part from vwheritage.com | The original seats have been re-covered in black leather by Totally Trimmed in Bournemouth. They are very solid and very comfy and I felt no need to swap them for something else and I prefer the authentic original look of the car. The rest of the interior is original. The dash and headlining are in great condition. The interior light was erratic so I bought a genuine replacement. I also bought the plastic air vent inserts for the dash and a new door pull - all genuine parts. Just to note the clock does work but has become disconnected again so isn’t currently operational. | The original interior rubber floor covering is present and looks great. | The rear load area has been sprayed and looks great. It isn’t in mint unblemished condition as far as pulling all the bumps out went but it is very tidy indeed. I usually keep the original load liner in the back to keep it tidy. I forgot to photograph it with it in there as I wanted to show the paintwork but rest assured it comes with an original load liner in used but great condition. I bought some fibreglass roll pans to fit either side of the number plate but decided against them. They are included in the sale if you want them. | I had a tonneau cover made by Cut ‘n’ Cover which fits beautifully. | The tailgate is all original. Took some work to sand it back but it looks lovely. It is a little tricky to open and close but it does. | Once the bodywork was done I took it to NOS VW in Wimborne and had the underside waxoyled by Simon Ballard. | Next door at Gary Angell Racing they lowered it for me on plates bought from Just Caddys. If you wanted it lower still you could axle-flip it but I wanted it to be a bit more practical. The road handling is great and it is very comfortable to drive on longer journeys. I took it to Winchester last month and it was magic! They also put on new coilovers for me and switched the discs and pads for new GTI vented set also bought from Just Caddys. | MOT’d until 8th Oct 2012 | Last serviced Oct 2011 | Taxed until 31st Dec 2012 | Plenty of paperwork, the V5, a spare key... More photos can be forwarded if needed. Just ask. It is all there | It have covered less than 1,000 since all the work was done. If you want a solid, sympathetically restored Caddy then this is your one. No boy racers messing around with the engine. This has no faults, drives superbly well and the petrol engine is surprisingly economical and quiet as compared to the diesel variant. No sticking cheap bits on in my spare time. This is not the work of `my mate from work` who sprayed it up one weekend on the cheap. It has all been professionally done. reliable. These lumps are indestructable.- Very low, dropped on coilovers on the front, flipped rear axle with 2 and 1/2" blocks and short bug shocks on the back. VERY easy and quick to raise the suspension if you wanted- For those not in the know, coilovers can just be adjusted with large C spanner-like tools (I`ll give you these too) in minutes. The rear blocks can be removed easily also, take you about an hour max with just a jack and a 13mm spanner.- 100% solid, totally rot free. I put many many many hours of welding into this truck, to save it from a neglected farm vehicle into the rock solid ride it is now.- Satin brown... very cheap and easy to touch up if scratched etc. The ideal paint in my opinion.The not so good points:- Interior is tatty.- There seems to be a gremlin in the elecrics lately- the dash lights (illuminating the dials lights) and horn occasionally don`t work so there is a loose wire there somewhere.- The bed had to be removed as it was too far gone but I replaced it with a panel made of marine ply which does the job fine, and can`t be seen with the wood-panelled bed cover over the back anyway, and is very handy for lifting up to do anything to the rear suspension or fuel tank etc.- little bit of an oil leak.- bit of a drip coming from the diesel pump... probably an O ring perished which cost pennies to replace. BUT Ialso I have a spare working engine so you can just have the fuel pump off of that as well for free if you want. You can even take the whole engine if you want.I was using this truck as a daily driver up to about 6 weeks-2 months ago, including travelling a hundred miles a day in it for a few months, and the truck worked a treat with no problems. These small problems listed have occurred whilst it`s been standing, so can`t take much effort to put right.Thanks very much, I have this advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end this auction early. With just 112,000 miles covered and boasting all of the original Sport detailing, this highly-collectable GTi-engined commercial would make a great promotional vehicle. The Caddy or Type 14, entered production in 1980 and ran for 16 years and was a light commercial largely based upon the iconic Mk.1 Golf. Styling changed altogether from 1996 onwards with the subsequent Type 9 being VW Polo-derived. Available with a variety of petrol or diesel engines, the Caddy has become an increasingly rare sight in the UK and the Sport version has all but disappeared. Featuring a low-compression 1600cc fuel injected engine developing around 95bhp, it was the “practical” Mk.1 GTi and was finished with special body-styling, alloy wheels and Sport interior. Our Caddy has lead a fairly sheltered life belonging to the proprietor of a VW Audi Workshop from 1998 to effectively the present day. a few extra touches added by me this year.She (Heidi) is rot free and solid all round and had the diesel injection pump stripped, re-sealed and modified (Governor mod as seen on the VWCaddy forums) by one of the forums much sought after pump wizards and I will gladly show you the transaction details and emails proving so. The whole car was checked over thoroughly by a local garage when they removed the pump for me to send away for re-sealing. They commented on how rare it was to a)see one of these and b) how clean this one was. They mentioned that they thought the battery was turning the engine over a little slow but it has always cranked and started just fine for me.Original VW BBS 15" alloys. Rear tyres have lots of life and front two will need a change for the next MOT I would have thoughtFront has been lowered slightly and now sits a nice aggressive "dragster" stanceInterior is really clean and scuff freeEngine is solid and will run you up and down the country all day without missing a beatGearbox is in the same top condition as the engine. SolidThe bed is clean and rust free but does have some usage dinksPly lined bedCustom roof roll bar to protect roof when long objects are loadedSecure dry storage area in the rear of the bedCustom nudge bumpers on the rearHad a respray some time within the last few years and has one crack which I will get a good photo of by TuesdayPaint work is otherwise lush, rich and thickNew front ball joints in March (one is yet to be fitted as the old one actually looked pretty new but will be supplied with car); the wishbones have been upgraded to the newer style that has easy fit bolt in ball joints and not the older style that can be a real pain to change over.Brakes are fresh with lots of life left on the padsSecond set of new headlights will come with herThe only things left for me to do to Heidi would be to fix the dash lights as they have never worked but am confident it is a simple enough remedy of either bulb replacement or simply the dimmer switch as they have been known to lose contact with age. Also the rear bulkhead has a some bubbling going on where the rear bed meets the bulkhead about the size of a playing card (I will try and show in a photo but it is within the storage box).Other than those two minor niggles she is spot on and a shining example of what a MK1 soon to be classic Caddy can look and drive like.I should mention here that she returns 40MPG around town and easily 50MPG on a run. Really. If that is not enough for you then I am told that many people have run on vegetable oil without issue although I have never tried this you can be sure the new seals in the diesel pump are up to the task should you wish to try that out one day as it seems to be all the rage these days!Please feel free to come and inspect this great little pick up before clicking buy or offers buttons, you will not be disappointed.Cash on collection within seven days of winning. is but nothing a good flat and polish won`t sort out. I sprayed it in my workshop when it was -2 so only myself to blame! | I`ll do the bad bits first; starting to get rusty round the rear arches and in a couple of other places. the door shuts, under the bonnet and in the back is still the original snot green (as my kids would say), only the passenger door locks, small hole on top on one of the rear aches (can see it from inside the van), stereo is ok but sounds awful (only the tweeters are working), no service history, no tax...think thats about it but there`s probably a couple of other bits I`ve forgotten about. | The good bits; looks great! (from 8/10 feet away anyway), engine runs very well indeed and the engine bay is very clean, no service history but you can tell it`s been maintained well. 50mpg all day long, no knocks/clunks/bangs. Rear chassis rails were completely rebuilt for 2011`s MOT (prone to rotting), new MOT as of today! (failed on a cracked headlight, 2 brake hoses and both cv boots). Matching tyres all round all with 6mm plus tread left | I`ve used her for the last year as a cheap work runabout and very cheap she`s proved to be. Been all over the country without skipping a beat, the last trip was to Swansea a couple of weeks ago (500 miles). She`s recently had new rear shoes and wheel cylinders. Only selling her as I`ve got too many cars and she`s become a bit surplus to requirements now. my aunty to drive on our milkround, we sold the milkround a few years back and my dad has used it ever since for fencing, hay deliveries and going to and from his other place of work. The caddy is barn stored whenever shes not in use and is serviced and MOTd by the same mechanic at his garage in a neighbouring village yearly. (the same guy has looked after it since we got it)! Shes been well looked after but is obviously nipping on a bit now so will need bits of welding and tlc etc. The drive shaft was replaced about a year back and the spare wheel has a brand new tyre on it. ive included pics of the sills and bed, it has a chequer plate sheet rivetted down to save the bed which does have some holes in. The pickup starts first time every time and never misses a beat. I used to own a mk1 golf and the gear change was nowhere near as tight as this. If your reading this advert you know what your looking at, this is and old vehicle and i would recommend viewing before bidding/purchasing.This is probably the most genuine caddy ull find, i can give you the mechanics number who has done all the work on it if you wish. two are about 500 miles old. I have fitted a third party sat nav/bluetooth stereo with AM/FM cd player, USB fitment allowing direct plus in to IPhone/Ipod, and SD card slot to play music from. Sat nav maps are included on an SD card and it works perfectly fine. | Van has recently had a gearbox overhaul as they are a weak point in these vans, I had a new fifth gear cog complete with bearings and diff bearings completed, I will dig out the receipt for this. This updates the van to ensure it continues to run perfectly fine and removes the weakspot in the gearbox. I have also fitted rear parking sensors with audible beep speaker in the back of the van. Van comes with partial service history from previous owner, I serviced it myself 4 months ago with new filters all round, oil and battery. | Van runs perfectly and apart from sorting the gearbox I havent had any problems since changing the battery, starts first time and is superb on fuel. | Van was originally dark blue but the original owners sprayed it light blue to fit with their company. I can include a set of roof bars if the buyer wants them free of charge. Rear of van is plyboarded. | As per photo there is one main mark to paintwork ad thats simply from a screwheard on the plyboarding that wasnt quite tight enough, this has been fixed and would cost about £100 to get sprayed. Van graphics are easliy removed with a steam cleaner or good jetwash. unfortunately my circumstances have changed and its now offered here for sale. Since owning this van ive been all round europe, nurburgring, brands and down santa pod, its a rock solid well engineered van with all the correct precautions and safety measures relevant to any tuning/mods carried out. With most projects where there is things hanging off and 2 dozen bits left to finish, this is not like that and is a very complete van, i wouldnt use the word finished as there is always something else you can do/change.ENGINE the spec includes abf 16v engine running 176bhp naturally or approx 230 on the bottle.It has the matching cable clutched 02a box with a new flywheel and luk clutch and cable, also has had cam belt full set of samco coolant and intake hoses all service items, some oil seals, gearbox oil and new seals,and all new vr6 engine mountings all less than 5k ago. The van runs a wizards of nos direct port nitrous injection kit at a safe level, including all the neccesary safety features avail from the wizards, it has a dyno tune bottle heater(essential for the uk) 2 spare bottles and a mini max digital progressive controller, all fitted into a bespoke inlet manifold that was custom built, the engine is finished with a piper x panel filter and a full wrapped custom stainless exhaust and de cat (original cat inc for mot purposes). CHASSIS spec includes custom gaz adjustable rear dampers lowered approx 100 mm with axle flip, 280mm grooved and drilled disks and calipers from g60, brake load compensator removed and wilwood one fitted on bulkhead, v maxx coilovers on front with new top mounts, widened g60/passat winter steel wheels with approx et9, nearly new yokohama tyres. INTERIOR porsche 996 seats electric and wired up in grey leather, polo 6n2 gti gear knob and handbrake, mk4 golf gti steering wheel, cupra clocks to match engine with silver dials(oe), cd player(kenwood) alpine and kenwood speakers, time delay int lights, elec windows and central door locking with oe switches. BODY paint is really good, not concouse but will hold its own in a show, smoothed rear bumper, sticker bombed scuttle and rear bumper step, seat gti front splitter, ibiza mirrors painted imolared2 to match wheels, pro tinted green side glass,mercedes lock blanks,pressed plates and surrounds, tinted rear euro style lamps hidden tailpipe for the sleeper look, pro rolled wheel arches for extra clearance. SECURITY is fitted with a cobra cat1 alarmimmob combined with cert of installation. All in all a great van for someone at a fraction of the build cost, this van has all its papers in order with correct eng nos etc, also has more history than the beatles, a folder full of recipts, previous mots to validate miles etc etc. IF YOUR SERIOUS COME TAKE A LOOK BUT I WONT BE FILLING FULL OF NITROUS FOR EVERYONE TO COME AND HAVE A JOY RIDE. THE BAD, theres 2 things i know could do with sorting so ill be honest, theres a fault with the slip ring on the steering wheel affecting the horn and the telltale for the indicators doesnt work, maybe just a dash bulb ive never checked. on friday and it is taxed until the end of may. it was professionally resprayed a few years ago gloss black but paint job leaves a lot to be desired paint has started to lift in the back section and is now starting to rust proberbly because i chuck tools in and use for work and as it was a few years ago it has odd marks and chips. It currently has 14 inch steel rims on it with good tyres as the 17s catch with it being so low. it is lowered at the front on coilovers and has been lowered on the back with lowering blocks and axle flip and beetle shocks. Has been in daily use for the past couple of years since conversion has been done. there is an extra cooling fan is on a switch on the dash. i replaced the timing chains and did the head gasket when i bought the engine 2 years ago. it has gti front brakes, std rear brakes, 100mm driveshafts. custom built exhaust, speedo all wired in properly. it doesnt have power steering or electric windows and there isnt a carpet only mats and the v5 is present and it is still registered as a 1.6 and the colour needs updating just never got round to doing it. it also has racing cams but needs ecu remapping to get the full benefit of these. viewing welcome anytime and any questions please ask. please note the weather has been bad so havent washed it but the first pic is what it looks like clean. cash on collection only within 7 days from long sutton lincs.Also forgot to mention door cards and headlining have been removed and have been replaced with custom made wood.mileage is 111000 will increase as being used daily unsure of mileage of engine it has done 11000 miles since it was rebuilt and installed.
