has an operational Zig unit and a leisure battery.It has a double rock and roll bed and a 2 berth bed in the roof.Everything has been used in the last year, and is fully operational, the only thing we couldnt get fully working was the fridge from the gas bottle, but the fridge does work on the electric.This year we have replaced: The clutch, the starter motor, the sliding door mechanisim.Things that will need work: The van is overheating when stationary my mechanic says this is just a switch, there would also possibly need a little amount of welding to get through the next MOT. There is small patches of surface rust, and Hector could do with a paint!As you can see from my feedback I am an honest seller, and these are the faults as far as I could tell.Thank you for veiwing this van will be brilliant fun in the summer! had her for 6 years. There is a history file demonstrating all owners have looked after her well.Factory 7 seater with useful arm rests all round. The rear and middle factory seats fold flat to form a base for a mattress. I bought an inflatable mattress and pump (using cigarette lighter) - the winning bidder will have the option to buy these from me on collection if they wish. Included in auction are a full set of VW T4 window screens, shaped to each of the individual windows providing 100% privacy and fantastic insulation.( It can be freezing outside and lovely and cosy inside! The Caravelle has been my pride and joy taking me on many journeys and has never missed a beat. Following advice from a friend while looking for a suitable vehicle I wanted one without internal cooker etc as most of the time its used a day vehicle, and cooking smells/effects the head lining. Plus you lose about 25% mattress width. This vehicle has sliding doors on BOTH sides giving great access. I was also pleased for the advice to buy a rear tailgate model rather than double doors... just giving a little shelter from the odd shower. Also my friend having sound proofed, insulated and carpet fitted his own T4 conversion advised to get one already done by the people who do it best - VW. The other tip I was given was if you want a German made VW in it will have an "H" in the chassis number (indicating it was made in Hanover). Some are not German made.Its the extremely reliable, rare and sought after six cylinder 2.8 V6 petrol engine, which means is has a chain not a cambelt so you will not find yourself in that awful situation of needing a new block if a cambelt fails. A very comfortable drive and cruise, made easier with automatic transmission. I have just had a new MOT carried out, all that was needed was new wiper blades. Tax has however just expired.The vehicle comes with the fantastic VW ventilation system which means the middle and rear passengers can have independent ventilation. Try finding this in a Transporter or Kombi panel van! The vehicle has Air Conditioning although it needs re-gassing to operate, I`ve never used the air-con, preferring to use the windows.There are 2 sets of central locking keys with the vehicle.The centre row of seats come out in seconds if you need to shift a fridge or washing machine. Take the back seats out and you`ve got a Transit size load area that takes a sheet of 8x4`. The interior trim is in excellent order as you would expect with the build quality of VW. No major tears, burns, stains or rips. Whilst I`ve never used it, she is fitted with a towbar.Clear front indicators, colour coding mirrors and bumpers and professional tinted windows make her pleasant to the eye, also fitted with rear parking sensors to help keep the back end free from dings.Sale includes a face-off CD player with 12disk multi changer - located under the passenger seat, not in the boot!I have previous MOTs and a pile of receipts for various work over the years, including a large bill for gearbox reconditioning just before I bought her. The tyres are all good, she has recent brake work all round, new water pump and I had a Stainless steel full exhaust fitted not long after I got her - lifetime guarantee so wont need doing again.The body work is in very good condition and gets many admiring glances while travelling and many compliments from passers-by. The previous owners both worked for a spare parts company in Somerset and I’ve only ever taken her to an old VW specialist in North London. | No tax and MOT expired less than 3 weeks ago (at time of listing). The only advisory from the previous MOT was rusting in both footwells that will need seeing to in the future - see close up pictures for more detail. She’s extremely solid underneath despite the usual rust spots that you see on T25s. | There’s a comprehensive stack of receipts from 2001 to present with some from as far back as 1996 and MOTs from 1994 – present (except for 2003). I only have the advisory for the 2010 MOT and but have the receipt for both bits that are noted (front brake pads and n/s front wishbone upper bushes) which were fixed before the next MOT. At same time a new rear type was fitted, replacement wheel bearing, new headlamp casing, and bumper caps (altogether £600 worth of work). The speedo was also replaced and I have a note from the garage with signed mileage readings from the old and new. I’ve also just fitted a new battery which has a 3 year warranty. | She has an aftermarket Pioneer CD and MP3 stereo system with Pioneer tweakers mounted into both front doors. There’s additional wiring if you wanted to mount speakers under the rear bench (an unfinished project). | I should point out is that the gear linkages are on the sloppy side (there’s an inch extension past 1st and reverse). She has gotten stuck in 5th before as the ball has slipped up out of the socket and as a result the linkages have been tightened slightly towards the driver. If you’ve owned a T25 before then you’ll know that it takes a little practice to select the gears sometimes. | The bus must be collected within 7 days of auction ending from London N1 and a contact number must be provided within 48 hours. I will be making space for something more practical. It is the 9-seat model with a huge boot. It has separate front and rear heaters/blowers with individual vent control for each passenger. It has cruise control (which is the best thing ever) and remote central locking. You can see a whole host of pictures here on my flickr. It is the 2.5 TDi model. It is very powerful and can pull a full load up a hill at speed. It cruises happily at 70 on the motorway and has more if you ever need it. I have been getting 40 mpg when empty on the motorway, and 32 mpg when full of people in town. The wheels are 18" VW alloys, although the spare is a standard steel wheel. There is a nice Alpine CD player fitted at the moment with JL audio speakers in the front and and Alpine amplifier with two small JL Audio sub-woofers in the rear. I will negotiate what parts of the stereo can stay in place depending on the offers I receive. I also have the original tape player and original speakers to re-fit if necessary. There is an MDF construction in the back that serves as a fold-out bed, rear shelf and sub-woofer enclosure. It is removable, but I`ll leave it in and you can decide whether you want it or not. It is exempt from the new London LEZ charge despite its age. I have owned it for 18 months and spent a lot of money on keeping it running well. It has had in that time, a new cam kit, valves and followers, cam shaft, water pump, fuel pump, bottom pulley, alternator, battery, brake discs and pads, handbrake cabling, suspension springs and tires all round (including spare). This was all done at a very reputable dealership with comprehensive receipts and records. There is some cosmetic wear and tear around the bus, the worst of this is indicated in pictures. It is an honest used bus, which would suit conversion into a camper or day van, or make a good reliable taxi or a big family run-around. Well worth a look. I’m selling only because after 3 years hard graft in the garage it’s finally time to get my T2 back on the road!!The electric mirrors only work on a horizontal axis, the motors are both fine but the glass has become un-attached vertically. Every forum I’ve looked at warns against trying to fix them as you will almost certainly break the glass. As a solution it is recommended that you push bubble wrap behind the glass to stop them vibrating, which is what I’ve done.Everything else is in fully working order. Some slight blemishes have been properly prepped, primed and sprayed with a close match color. See photos.-NO RUST!Rear tyres will need changing at some point but are good for MOT (3mm).You can pick up used alloys with good tyres for about £200 so I’d do that if I was going to keep it. There are loads on gumtree and ebay.My justification for the steels without trims is that they are more fuel efficient than alloys, a little heavier, but more Aerodynamic than alloys which ‘whisk’ the air. it was Top of the Range, with everything you would expect of a modern day car, including ABS, Traction control, `Cimatronic` air conditioning and the fantastic Bullet Proof VR6 engine that simply knocks the spots of any other T4 .The VR6 lump has stacks of power and that unmistakeable Burble, that gets heads turning where every you go. The drive is Super; smooth, quiet and delivers its power effortlessly. It will cruise at 80mpg all day long and overtaking is not a problem as it has power to spare, so there is no need to thrash it through the gears to get going, like the rest of the them, even when fully loaded. What`s more, this one benefits from a New Top of the Range LPG `Sequential Gas Injection System` that returns 46-48mpg. No Diesel comes close .I bought the Velle back in 09 with the intention of converting into a camper and keeping it, however the kids have now grown up and are after a car of their own and this is not, as much as they would like it to be, a suitable first time vehicle, so reluctantly she is up for sale. We used to have a T3 Devon Camper when the kids were young but the lack of 3 point seat belts in the back was an big issue. The Velle has the seat belts issue covered and with the factory fitted insulated lining already there (unlike some of the ply-wood lined ones you come across), I thought I would be off to a flyer. However once I got it home I quickly realized just how well designed and practical these vans are. The 8 seats mean you can take the whole family, granny and all out in one car. In true Volkswagen style, safety and comfort. However if you want to sleep in it, the back bench seats fold down and a blow up bed thrown on there, was all we found we needed and with stacks of room under the seat and in the back for the rest of your camping gear, but in 2sec the seats are back. Then there are the 3 middle seats, but with them being individual, you can take 1, 2 or all 3 out in any order, giving you room for your surf boards or bigger, with room for your mates to get down to the beach or festival. So, Yeah instead I`m Converted.Again we have had VW Transporters before so the +100 mileage didn`t concern me, the Build quality of the body, components and engine are rightly legionary and for good reason, the drive of this 15 year old van feels as good as new in fact the last VW service inspection (£886.09) revealed the compression was the same as the day it was built and with the parts I have replaced there are many years of trouble free motoring to be enjoyed. In truth when I bought it, it had an intermittent Gear Box fault and rough idle. I investigated/researched the gearbox and it came to light that although it`s a dream box to drive. It comes with a VW design flaw from, the stock Gearbox oil Cooler is not up to the job and described by some as an in fact an Oil Heater! The stock cooler is designed to get the gearbox oil up to running temp as quick as possible, to do this it`s connected to the engine cooling system radiator. This is good, for eliminating any cold/sluggish gear changes while it warms up, but it can`t keep it between the optimal temp, in fact it starts to heat it up way over the safe limit and that`s the problem. This is very easy to fix! Just as VW-Audi etc have done to all their gearboxes that have followed. They have fitted an external & dedicated Transmission Oil Cooler. The `Summit Racing Transmission Oil Cooler` I found to be the best one for the job and one has been fitted. The result was instant, problem fixed. However because I intended to keep it and it had run hot (I didn`t know for how long) no expense was spared, I took it to C&D Transmissions to get their full recondition/overhaul (£2200) so you can rest at ease and forget about an horror stories you have heard about these boxes. This one is sorted and Better Than New!The rough idle and sluggish power (felt like it was being starved of air ), I thought would be a new Air Mass Metre, problem solved. However it proved to be harder to track down, in fact I have replaced almost everything you could think of £££; New Pipercross Air Filter (in the standard air box), Bosh Air Mass Metre, Injectors, Ignition Leads, Spark Plugs, Lamba Probes. A Complete exhaust system (including the Cat, right through to the back ) all of which did improve things but still not quite right, more research and there it was/`Wasn`t`, a small 10p sized `Air Breather` was missing/blocked off. So off to the VW garage and after spending an extra £2.50, I fitted it and she burst into life, and purring like a Kitten and all that VR6 power I had heard of. Yes, they really do pull like the proverbial train.Next the LPG system. The original certificated system was fitted back in Dec 2001, very good in its day and after giving 100,000 miles of cheap motoring I decided to up grade to a new Top of the range system. So a new OMVL_ Dream XXXI N `Sequential Gas Injection system has been fitted, again fully certificated Or even better Recorded_Added to the online UKLPG Vehicle Register (www.drivelpg.co.uk) along with the additional larger Gas tank which was fitted at the same time total £2000. If you are new to LPG motoring there are lots of garages to fill up at, right across the country. The benefits are: Half price Fuel, Smoother, Quieter, Cleaner Running Engine. 30% Extended Engine Life. Extended cruising/driving Range (petrol tank still there). On this Velle the petrol tank will give you around 400miles and the LPG will give you up to 487mile, and of course all that Clean Air for Everyone. So Petrol gives you 25-28mpg and the LPG works out at 46-48mpg.If you do an average 10,000 miles a year LPG will save you 845kg of Co2 and £1,050 in your pocket. The VR6 Velle is 15 year old and a future classic, as they have always been real rare, just watch the price rise. It has had lots of time and money spent on her in the last couple of years, all of the above plus:- New Radiator, Thermostat, Alternator, Battery, a full VW A/C overhaul and recharge, all new filters, plus I have just had the front suspension, tracking, ride height and cambers set (replaced the top and lower suspension joints, track rod ends, steering rack arms and new drive shaft gaiters £420). A quick look at the price of all the work and new parts fitted and you can see I`m giving it away. This is a very good honest van that would make a cracking camper or just keep it as a Velle. The MoT & Tax is not quite the full 12 & 6months, but this could been done for a price, it`s just I had not planed to sell. The van is in very good overall condition especially for a van of its age and miles, there is no rust to speak of and as far as I can tell there are no new panel`s, welding or filler any were on it, there are the odd scratch & stone chip, and small dent someone gave us in the car park. In fact the only real wear, that starts to give away its true age is a small amount wear on the front seat (no rips) hopefully you can see all this in the pictures but if you need any other info give me a call.
