82,000 miles from new, its had new rear arches and sills fitted some years ago now but are still strong. the car is painted in satin black so will need a full respray to finish it off. Its had 9 previous owners. Its now had a 1.8 20v turbo conversion done from an 02 plate gti golf, its had the full wiring harness from front to rear fitted so all washer bottle sensors work, fuel and trip computer works. its got an audi A3 dashboard and steering coloum fitted. large front mount intercooler as well and silcone boost hoses. The car starts and runs perfectly and drives 100% pulls really well. all the brakes are just standard mk1 at the minute, its fitted with refurbed pirrelli alloys, with brand new toyo tyres, brand new bottom arms and ball joints, all brake pipes and fuel pipes are also brand new. it has koni adjustable suspenision all round. This is an ongoing project but now doesnt have alot left to do. its had all welding done which was only a bit round the spare wheel well and a water drain plug at the front had rotted. GOOD POINTS 1.8 20v turbo proper conversion shafts proper conversion mounts front mount intercooler refurbed wheels and tyres koni suspension all wiring done half leather mk1 gti interior good clean shell engine runs really well BAD POINTS... this is an unfinished project it needs both front doors finished off after being modded for dash to fit needs a new roof lining in side radiator fan needed needs mot and taxed fuel gauge sorted tracking done will need a proper exhaust made (but the one on does the job fine its just a little messy) there will be other jobs that are needed but nothing major now. 07709 417770This car is a project for someone with the time and or money to get it finished off. he has owned the car since 2003 and it has been garaged ever since, and about a year later he had the car fully re-sprayed in the original colour and at the same time he had brand new original Bonnet and wings which alone cost him approx £350, also had new fuel filler neck, drivers side rear quarter panel which included the fuel cap area.He has most of the bits from the car stored inside it including all the seats, trims, window seals etc. The bits and work required that he is aware of are:-Windscreen-Headlining-Carpet-Inner wings need welding (as seen in pictures)-I think sills are ok but may need some welding-Small hole in passenger side floor and spare wheel well-Tyres will probably need replacingThere is probably more bits and pieces but he is not 100% sure so the best option is to come and view the car in Christchurch area.The car does start (with jump leads) and run although a little roughly and all gears seem to select and work ok, it is showing 85k on the clock but this is may not be genuine and as he not had the car on the road this is roughly what it had when he bought it.The car is generally a good base to start with and has had roughly £2500 spent on it over the years, the bodywork does have some scratches and marks on it from items catching it in the garage but still looks good. car for you. the car is in good condition overall, as you can expect there is marks here and there but nothing major. after all the car was produced in 92 so its no surprise really. the paintwork on the car is rather good aswell sadly the back and rest of the car do not completely match however it isnt too bad atall. i do have the original back but there was a hole in it so i replaced it. i also have the original spoiler and glass which i will include to the buyer. the car is running and can be heard running if viewing is arranged. the bad parts about this car is as follows, there is a noisy wheel bearing and the exhaust is blowing from the front of the car, this may only be a gasket but i cant be sure the wheels on the car are overall in good nick. there is the odd scuff here and there though. the tyres on each wheel are pretty good and have a decent amount of tred left on them. the car has no tax or mot on it, but with a little tlc it should go through no problem i am putting no reserve so grab yourself a bargin, i would keep the car but as im going to uni i have no need for it my name is chris and my number is 07939604490 all questions welcome X | £51.00 | |||||||

of a couple of problems, which are small.the back door has a dent which can be seen in the pictures,the front bumper has a scuff on the corner and the lower bumper trim is missing which is about 12 pounds to buy,there is a noise coming from the front n/s when driving i think it could be bushes its not very loudthe steering wheel is about half a turn out and the steering rack needs to be centralised as the garage i took it to before christmas to do the tracking and messed it up but the tracking is fine. generally the car needs some tlc. I have had lots of work done on the car last year and always been well maintained. The radio and cd player in the car is not mine so it will be removed from the car before its sold. the car comes with the private plate as i can`t be bothered to take it off.i brought the car about 4 or 5 years ago and as it had no service history i had the cam belt changed and serviced. are more pressing so needs to be sold, it is in pretty good condition for its age and considering it has not been on the road since 1991!!Looking at it it has had new rear arches not to long ago, has had good s/h doors fitted and painted as well as new front wings, all the plates have been made for the few holes that are in the floor, and it will need the o/s outer sill patching or replacing too. The interior is worn consistant with age but would probably clean up ok.There are a full set of 5 early VW alloys with the car, don`t know if they were original to the car but are from that era.It doesn`t run at the moment but does turn over, i think it is a fuel pump issue - either an electrical supply issue or the pump is stuck. If i get chance i will try to get it running.There are some spare grilles and other bits and pieces with the car, the starting bid is what i paid for it and there is no reserve as i would like to see it got to a good home as these mk1 gti`s are becoming hard to find. Most of the journeys we`re in sixth gear cruising along the M1 and getting 44+ MPG.As you can see the car has being maintained to a high standard and is regularly valeted inside and out.SERVICEThe car has been serviced by VW upto about 90k miles having the belt changed aswell as all the usual bits. From 90K on wards it has been serviced at a local german car specialist. Currently running on a long life service plan meaning oil etc should be changed every 15 - 18K miles, i have been having it changed every 12 months just to make sure.The car has just had 2 new tyres the other two have roughly 5 - 6mm of tread.RemapThe remap was done last June to increase the fuel economy of the car and afterwards you could see the difference. As well as additional MPG you also get an extra 50bhp which cant be grumbled at. After having the map done i was conscious that the EGR valve could be a victim so i had this changed to the Audi more robust plastic one which is working a treat.Last month the car had all four coils replaced as it was recalled by VW during an inspection, a nice freebie.CosmeticCosmetically the car is in good - excellent condition, the only reason i say good is due to the alloy curbing. Nothing a £50 refurb would fix. Also a minor scuff on the front bumper. The car has only covered 45,000 miles from new and Im the 2nd keeper of the car, it comes with a full service history but it is due a service now all be it only a minor one at the cost of approx £200 this is reflected in the price of the car. Everything inside the car works exactly as it should. The exterior of the car is complimented by 18inch Monza alloys, the paintwork is superb and shows no signs of fading etc, Im very miticulas about my car so its well kept and cleaned every week. The only fault I can describe is the lacquer seems to have chipped a little on the front bumper, its not very noticable so Ive never done anything about it. Theres lots of these cars about that have had various tuning etc done but this one remains exactly as VW intended it to be, it has bags of power which is delivered perfectly through the flappy paddle gearbox or any other setting you choose to put it in. This is the DGS gearbox so it can be auto, auto sport, manual or paddle shift. The reason for selling this car is we`d like a bigger house, myself and my partner work at the same office and share a car so this rarely gets used hence the low mileage, so the money will go a long way to a bigger deposit. add it to the final price. Info: Just passed MOT - got it in early - so it`s got 12 months. The interior is great overall. The wipers all work (even the back one!) the switches all work, the dash is good. There is very little rust, some on the doors (see pictures). It has a mint spare wheel and jack but needs a wheel nut-wrench to change the wheel (see picture). It will come with a Sony CD Player though the volume knob has come off, though this is still easy to change the volume (see picture). The CD player has an aux port for an iPod. Has a full service history, with book stamped plus receipts for the work i`ve had done. I`ve had it since November 2010. Since buying it, I’ve had the following done to it (what I can remember!), spending over £2,000: new headlights wheel bearing kit battery oil filter spark plugs head set head bolts timing belt 2x brake pipes brake fluid 2x handbrake cables tracking 2x tyres brake calliper x2 brake pads brake discs brake fluid rear brake pads rear brake pipes new exhaust new cooling fan & motor & wiring wheel balance The only things i`m aware of that may need sorting are as follows and they are small things: There is wear on the driver`s seat (this is usual for these cars - see picture); The back of the inner roof lining has come away a bit due to some water getting in from somewhere at some time (see picture).
