It does have some minor cosmetic marks to the bumpers, doors etc which should be visible in the pictures. It is by no means in `mint condition` externally however being silver it doesnt show the marks so much. There are some small grazes to the corners of the bumpers however the rest of the panels are relatively clean. There are a few minor patches of rust to just under the boot lid and the rear arches. The wheels would benefit from a refurbishment as there is some laquer peeling and a few minor marks. All of the tyres are decent. The brakes have just been changed front and rear which is a pretty expensive job, plus the cambelt was only done approx 30k miles ago by VW and the majority will require this doing. Internally the seats are in great condition with no obvious marks. | Mechanically, I think it has been very well looked after over the years and it certainly could pass for a car that has covered half its mileage. The clutch bite point is quite high. Also, on occassions, 1st gear can be difficult to select - our mechanic had a look and there is a plastic selector mechanism under the bonnet which has some slight wear. It should be a very easy part to locate/replace.The gearbox itself is absolutely fine and it usually is not a problem. The way it drives is very good - the turbo pulls strongly, it does not pull to the left/right, and having formerly worked for VW and sold these cars both new and used, I am familiar with them. | Everything within the car works perfectly. the auction early. I have had the car for 4 years. I bought it with 30,000 miles and the car has now done 50,000 miles. Almost all of my miles are motorway miles. The car is fast, looks great and is ultra reliable. In the time I have had it the only problems have been a flat tyre and a flat battery! I`m only selling as I am getting a campervan. It has about 10 months tax and MOT. I has all the usual GTI features you would expect e.g. decent sound system, heated seats, A/C, alarm, immobilised and 18" alloys. Original VW jack etc. Full size spare wheel. There are a few very minot bad points that I am aware of: 1. Scratch on bonnet (see photo). This is quite deep. No rust.2. Chip on wheel arch (see photo). loved this car and it runs faultless. One of the main reasons for me getting the golf was that the insurance is very reasonable. I have just now changed jobs and am in a car share, so the 3 door is a bit impractical.
