its going tobe very hard to see it go. The car is an original right hand drive uk car that was first registeredin rhyl. north wales. in 1972. It then spent some time on the wirral and when i bought it, it came back to north wales to wrexham. When i got hold of the car it had been restored to a very high standard.It was my every other day daily drive for the first eight years of me owning it.It never let me down and just kept going and going. One day the clutch went and the car got pushed to the back of the garage. With it being the start of the winter it got left their until the weather picked up. Or that was the plan.several years later i decided it was time to dig it out and see what sort of mess time had made of it. It was quite a pleasant surprise as she had stoodthe test of time well. A full restoration was decided and work got underway. When i first got the car it had been painted black. Originally it wasorange with a black roof so this is the direction I went in. It is not the originalvolkswagen orange as I find it too dark. It is a much brighter orange that really looks good against the black roof, black bumpers and wheels. The bumpers had some pitting to the chrome and after looking into getting them rechromed or replaced for stainless steel ones it was decided to strip the chromeoff them and paint them black to go with the roof. Stainless ones seem to havea bit of a yellow tint to them and after being re chromed the chrome does not seem to last very long. The gamble paid off because they look really good in black andget good reaction off people. Inside the car got new everything. New headlining, carpets, dash top recovered, seats recovered, door cards and so on. It has had a fortune spent on it. The engine got a rebuild and runs lovely. and it finally got that clutch kit it had been waiting for. It now has a set of porsche 2 litre alloys and looks amazing. To sum up. This car is in excellent condition. Please do not insult me with anysilly offers. I know what I have got. I know what it is and having been in the volkswagenscene and attended volkswagen shows for twenty years I know what it is worth. I may have a little room for negotiation but you are not going to get this car for a song.
