GOODNESS SAKE, NO MORE TIMEWASTERS PLEASE!!!!!! | 1972 L. reg. . tax exempt. | my friend started building this about 10 years ago around the same time i started my split and got so far before personal circumstances halted work on the van, i then bought it like this but myself had little time to work on it hence its just sat around for years in this unfinished state. | loss of storage soon is now forcing alot of my projects to be sold. | 1st the mods.. | back end has been completely cut out and spaceframed then a capri 2.8 v6 mid mounted along with auto box and capri rear axle, | this then gives you leaf sprung rear suspension, rear disc brakes have also been fitted,... | . pictures show it with engine fitted a few years back, it was all in and mounted properly and got to the stage where it was running, all exhausts built etc etc, it was then removed to finish welding ,panelling etc and this is as far as it got. | so once the other work is done it could be literally fitted and running in a few days. | chassis has all been done and is solid front to back,. | it has a lowered bay front beam fitted along with disc brakes, | power steering set up has been fully modified using an opel steering box and custom column etc. | bodywork is all modified with gull wing side door and tailgate/engine lid made into 1 piece, lights are now all fitted in bumpers, full length perspex skylight sunroof, the list goes on. | dash/console etc is fully modified in steel, this was all new and is only surface rust from standing. | it really could do with blasting to clean all the surface rust and "jokes" painted all over it to get back to a blank canvas. | comes with full set of 17" alloys that are fitted on the back. | i would prefer anyone bidding to come and see the van first to satisfy themselves of work needed, as if you dont have the skills or foresight to see past the bad bits it could be off putting when you see work needed.. | no interior ... | any more info or viewing call 07973 256924, | CHECK OUT MY OTHER ITEMS | delivery possible...please call for a quote. | X

White Thing”, I’ve owned this crewie since 06/10/2005 and was my daily driver for about 4 years, as I had several aircooled VW’s I decided to take it off the road and start restoring it, since then I’ve done pretty much bugger all to it and finally realised that all its going to do is sit there so someone else might as well enjoy it. Vehicle is currently sorn, but is free historic tax. Since purchasing the vehicle I’ve done some welding on some top hat sections and replaced a few outriggers, made up some patches for MOT repairs, sorted out the stock heating system so you get a good amount of heat all the way to the front, new cables throughout. New aerial. Front beam has been replaced with a ‘Weedeater’ beam, 84mm narrowed and lowered about 3” to level the vehicle out, plenty more adjustment to go lower, at the same time I replaced the shocks, all the torsion arm ball joints, fitted new track rod arms (complete) and steering damper. 1600 engine was serviced regularly but has the obligatory oil leaks, from memory a couple of the exhaust studs are rotted but ran fine, fitted with a kadron k300. The carb and dizzy aren’t fitted at the moment but I’ll refit them prior to collection and try to get it running to make it easier to get on a trailer/low loader. The vehicle currently has no brakes, the front callipers have been split and pistons removed prior to me rebuilding them which never happened, all calliper parts are present including the anti-squeal shims. I’ve replaced both front hard lines from the t-piece to the chassis and fitted the grommets, o/s/r has been stripped prior to me welding the replacement panel (cut from a breaker) and handbrake cables have been cut at the front. Interior is complete and despite being dirty is in relatively good nick. All parts removed during ownership will come with the vehicle. Currently sitting on 17” merc alloys with 4 very good tyres, o/s/r however has a nail in it causing a slow puncture but it should be fixable with a mushroom, original wheels included but tyres are shot. Load bed is solid, dropsides and rear gate in poor but useable condition, sills replaced by previous owner, welds could do with tidying though. Bad bits, roof has a few dents and there is a small gap between the roof and the crossbar due to a slight bend in the bar, I have a replacement bar cut from a breaker which will come with the vehicle, looks worse than it is, n/s/f lower windscreen frame has rotted through and the seal is brittle, this area has had gaffa tape put on to reduce the leak but would need fixing properly, both front arches need replacing, 1 replacement will be included, rear lower corners have been repaired with camper repair panels as opposed to the correct panel, I have an o/s/r NOS complete panel to replace one side, photo of the o/s/r area which is holed, replacement panel cut from breaker included. Vehicle has scratches, dents etc but is in very good condition for year. Included in the sale but not fitted is a draglink arm, 2xhandbrake cables, 2xcaliper rebuild kits, 4xcaliper bleed nipples, set of brake pads and fitting kit, 2xrear drum backplates, 2xrear cylinders, fitting kit, dust caps and all grommets for brake lines, all flexible hoses for braking system. is a twin seat at the back of the van that converts into a double bed there is also a twin seat that is fitted behind the passenger seat that faces the back of the van under all the seats there is enough space for storage. Also there is a new roof lining and 6 spotlights fitted though out the van that do work, The driver and passenger seats are out of a toyota privea last of all the body work needs a bit of TLC and the engine needs a service. The reason i am selling the van is due to diteration of my health and can no longer keep the maintenance work up on the van. and another tiny hole above the rain gutter on the back left.We have driven to Bordeaux 4 times and once went into Spain and down into Portugal as far as Lisbon. She has never left us on our feet!We`ve spent plenty of cash to get her in good mechanical order. A year ago the steering box and the breaks were over hauled and recently she got a new electric fuel pump. She can get up to 80mph on the empty French Motorways once she builds up a head of steam.We are moving abroad and have hardly driven her since the last MOT so unfortunately we have to let her go.There is some minor bubbling in a couple of small areas on the side panel but too small to photograph. She is very straight and has factory under-seal. The front seats are a little faded as are the curtains but they still look great and get plenty of compliments. There is an extra curtain in matching fabric which attaches around the cab windows so that you get privacy and maximum space inside when camping. Has all the original bits:front cab cot, hammock, stool, mosquito net for rear hatch etc. pop-top tent could use a clean but its in good shape and has no tears. she started off as a panel van and was converted some time ago. It presently has an identity issue due to a paint job, the right rear arch was painted and was painted a very similar green but not the correct green :( and have not had funds to get it sorted which is reflected in the reserve pricing. Am waiting for technical spec from friend so cant say too much due to not being technically minded. It was re-sprayed 4 years ago, the paint work is very good and doesn`t have any corrosion (rust).The front and one of the rear seats are original, the other rear seat was fitted 4 years ago. Old Dub Shop after sitting idle for some years. I came across it when I was looking for someone to weld up a `72 GT Beetle I had. Clive at The Old Dub Shop showed me this bus and a `67 beetle and somehow I ended up buying them both! Unfortunately now has come the time for me to part with the bus as I just don`t use it. It had about 4 outings last year and this year the furthest it has been is 20 mins down the road to Bristol for a new MOT!The condition of the bus is as it should be and has not been made shiny like all the others. UK the bus was checked over mechanically and any parts replaced to ensure it would pass a UK MOT. The only metal work required was a Wolfsburg West complete cab floor fitted by Dan of Buswerx, the rest of the bus is how it left the factory 47 years ago and is still wearing the original factory underseal, you will struggle to find a better original bus. Of course there are minor dents etc which can only be expected, don`t spend £1,000`s welding up an old bus, they`re only original once! The previous owner started the restoration, spent loads of money but never got round to finishing it. The Body been painted once in its life in a slightly different to the original green. There are a few little dents and dings but it is as rust free as you are likely to find. Front floors are like new, sliding door has some minor damage but comes with a near perfect second door in og colour. There is some corrosion under the front screen but an easy fix.The roof has been professionally restored with new stickers, seals and a new canvas. Sills and floors are excellent. Rear bumper is also included, it is very good just needs painting. Interior looks to be complete. The original Plaid cushions are all in very nice condition, has original curtains and mosquito net. The units are good although some are in need of re laminating. Front seats have been stripped and powder coated. These will need putting back together but new covers are included. Engine is out and has been stripped. It looks as though it just needs putting back together as the heads have had work there are brand new pistons, fly wheel, exhaust etc and all tin where has been powder coated. Mileage on the clock shows 76k i cannot confirm that is genuine but would be surprised if not. You will really struggle to find a better project than this. In my honest opinion with a paint, engine back in a bit of minor interior tidying and re-fitting you are looking at a camper in the £12k + bracket. This bus will be supplied with its U.S. title deed and import duties paid certificate. I have lots of photos. a collector who offered it as part payment for a 356 Porsche Speedster we sourced and delivered to him. The car has been in his possesion for 12 years and from what he tells us was originally from the USA and on arriving in Japan it had its odometer changed over to kilometers and has been dry stored and kept in a condition for daily use the km reading is 50,000km. The Samba has recently passed on its Japanese annual Shaken tests which is a TUV style strict road regulations tests which is stricter then the MOT we have here in the UK. That means that all electronics are functioning, The engine runs smoothly, Transmission works and has no unexpected emission problems or water/oil leaks!!The Samba idles and accelerates fine with no over heating issues or running problems with the gearbox. If the car were in worse shape the collector would have rebuilt it. However it is in good enough shape that it could easily be a daily driver in the shape it is currently in. The only rust is under the samba windows in the roof. The floor, and front sections are in great shape with very little rust.I will post up a picture of the Vin tag and M plate as requested by a ebayer for them to take a look to confirm this is a genuine vehicle. We have no real concerns as the collector has been known to us for a number of years and he also owns a 23 screen samba. The vehicle is currently in our storage premises in Japan and we are advertsing it locally and international as can be shipped worldwide to any sea port.
