as I don’t use it nearly enough anymore to warrant the cost of owning a car in London. | She has been an extremely reliable weekend runner and has started with minimal fuss (even in this extremely cold weather!) every time, perfect for long weekends away and festivals and as a second car in the house. The previous owners both worked for a spare parts company in Somerset and I’ve only ever taken her to an old VW specialist in North London. | No tax and MOT expired less than 3 weeks ago (at time of listing). The only advisory from the previous MOT was rusting in both footwells that will need seeing to in the future - see close up pictures for more detail. She’s extremely solid underneath despite the usual rust spots that you see on T25s. | There’s a comprehensive stack of receipts from 2001 to present with some from as far back as 1996 and MOTs from 1994 – present (except for 2003). I only have the advisory for the 2010 MOT and but have the receipt for both bits that are noted (front brake pads and n/s front wishbone upper bushes) which were fixed before the next MOT. At same time a new rear type was fitted, replacement wheel bearing, new headlamp casing, and bumper caps (altogether £600 worth of work). The speedo was also replaced and I have a note from the garage with signed mileage readings from the old and new. I’ve also just fitted a new battery which has a 3 year warranty. | She has an aftermarket Pioneer CD and MP3 stereo system with Pioneer tweakers mounted into both front doors. There’s additional wiring if you wanted to mount speakers under the rear bench (an unfinished project). | I should point out is that the gear linkages are on the sloppy side (there’s an inch extension past 1st and reverse). She has gotten stuck in 5th before as the ball has slipped up out of the socket and as a result the linkages have been tightened slightly towards the driver. If you’ve owned a T25 before then you’ll know that it takes a little practice to select the gears sometimes. | The bus must be collected within 7 days of auction ending from London N1 and a contact number must be provided within 48 hours.
