then next time you`re out on the road you`ll start to notice how popular this car is, it`s become popular as they are the ultimate multipurpose car, they don`t feel too big for smaller people to drive yet when you need that extra room they come into their own. Also the big boot with low floor means getting everyday objects like prams or trolleys in and out is easy. Seven seat max capacity or an extremely large boot in 5 seat mode. You can actually mix and match seats to give you different load capacities, the three main seats are easily removeable which then gives you an enormous load carrying capability. If you want to be able to go out with hte family but take along tents, bikes, friends etc etc then you need a Touran. Also you tend to find that VW design their cars to age maintaining a undated appearance. VW Biscay Blue Pearlescent Paint, with body coloured bumpers. Diesel for extended economy. Manual gearbox. MOT until May 2013, Taxed until end of July 2012I`m the second owner, the first owner was VW Parkway the main dealer in Derby, I purchased in 2008 and it`s been a much loved car for our family.Volkswagen Service History, the Cambelt and waterpump have recently been changed at Smith Knight & Faye VW Dealer. The ESP/ABS unit was replaced by VW in 2010. ***Don`t purchase any Touran or Golf unless you have proof this expensive ESP fault has been rectified***Electric front windows, winders in the back so the kids won`t drive you nuts with power window buttons ;-), cruise control, loads of storage drawers. The Tyres are excellent condition Continental tyres with an additional spare set of Continental winter tyres, I thought I might need a 4x4 for commuting through the Peak District but once I discovered Winter tyres I found my self safely driving on roads that 4x4s were struggling on. You fit the Winter tyres front November to April, not just when it snows, this is how Europe copes with winter weather where-as the UK comes to a standstill.There`s two Thule Aero Roofrack bars included. There`s a hard protective boot tray which is a godsend for keeping your boot clean and tidy. If you have children I have 2 isofix VW children`s seats, they are the ones that have a protective/supportive lap cushion/tray, in my view far safer and more practical than normal child seats. There`s a Brodit dash mount for fixing your phone or Satnav so they don`t have to be sucked to the windscreen requiring an arm reach to operate (I may consider including a TomTom 720t with powered mount). It has been regularly serviced is runs very well and there are no warning lights etc. The car has had one previous owner, and had a number of extras at that time, including Air conditioning, ABS, Passenger Airbag and metallic paint. The car is now starting to show a bit of rust, which is localised to the bottom of the front wings near teh doors, and also patchs at the bottom of the driver and passenger front doors. over the 200K mileage mark and in many respects are better than the modern 2.0 TDI engines. The car looks very nice and the upgraded alloys add that extra finish to the car. The Golf has a genuine 120,000 miles which is nothing for this engine and comes with 12 Months m.o.t for complete peace of mind. The car is 13 years old and does show signs of wear in places which I will list in the bad bits section but generally speaking this is a nice looking car for the money. These cars are very economical and will average a combined 54 m.p.g and are reasonable to ensure being only group 10. The car comes with all the relevant documentation including the original VW handbook with the manuals along with the service book. The car does come with service history along with receipts and a full vosa printout. Bad Points Small piece of the rear light is chipped (see picture) Few scratches on front corner of the bumper and rear (see pictures) Small dint in D/S wing (see pictures) Only 1 key Drivers seat shows signs of wear on the outer bolster Dashboard pixels have gone in places. I bought it, it had just cracked the headlamps (which have been replaced by brand new ones) and bent the front of the bonnet and cracked the bumper, I managed to get a bonnet, bumper and grill in the same colour which have been fitted correctly, as have two new rear springs, (totally unrelated to the accident, but needed changing anyway) It has since been checked by VOSA and they have issued us with a Vehicle check pass certificate to say that it is roadworthy and it is still the same vehicle that came out of the factory. I heard from the previous owner, that the accident was in the snow and it was so light that it didn`t even set the airbags off, so nothing structural, because I bought the car for my wife, so I wouldn`t have got her a car that would in any way be compromised. 4 years and in that time has never missed a beat! | At the moment it is still used daily until my new Passat arrives. | We have been on many UK holidays and have even driven her right down to Spain and you never feel for one moment that it would let you down! (it is a VW after all) | This car is in fabulous condition and finished in deep metallic blue. I will very confidently say that the first person who views this car will buy as the condition and the drive are truly amazing. You will not find another 2004 car in this condition and it has wanted for nothing. | No knocks or rattles, totally HPI clear, engine coolant temperature maintains a constant 50% on the gauge, does not use any water or oil, engine is very strong being the 130PS version it really does pull well and virtually irons out hills when driving up them, even when fully loaded! Gearbox is nice and tight and the gear changes precise. | As this is the Trendline model (next one down from the top spec Highline model) it benefits from Digital climate control and cruise control along with control buttons on the steering wheel. | This Passat is one of the later B5.5 models so has some nicer refinements over earlier models such as, indicators on the wing mirrors, larger dashboard computer display, this shows the radio station as well as informing you when the washer bottle needs topping up and which doors are open on the car etc, etc. Fuel economy is great, returning between 45-58mpg depending on the road type and avarage speed. | I currently have my own private plate on the car which I will be transferring to my new one as soon as I pick it up. OWNER2KEYS64,510 MILESWHY IS THIS VEHICLE A NON RUNNER?THIS VEHICLE IS A NON RUNNER AS IT HAS ENGINE TROUBLE IT HAS BEEN INTO A VOLKSWAGEN DEALER WHO HAVE RECOMMENDED THAT THE ENGINE IS REPLACED DUE TO THE TIMMING BELT SNAPPING/SLIPPING. IT CAN BE FIXED BUT THEY SAID IT IS EASIER TO REPLACE WITH A COMPLETE ENGINE. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD I AM NOT A MECHANIC SO I RECOMMEND YOU TO VIEW THE CAR AND MAKE YOU OWN DECISIONTHE CONDTION OF THE CAR INSIDE/OUTSIDETHIS CAR IS 6 OLD AND FOR THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE THE CAR IS VERY CLEAN AND YOU CAN TELL THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN BY ONLY ONE PERSON/COMPANY AND IS A CREDIT TO THEM AS THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IT. or repair. | Only two previous owners | Piles of FULL service history and receipts which has mostly been done at the local VW main dealer. | Car comes with 6 months MOT and is taxed till the end of August. | It has recently had a full set of Federal tyres which all have 6-7mm on | It had brand new discs and pads all round less than 500 miles ago. | It has had a recent bottom arm and ABS sensor in the last 1000 miles | When i purchased the car it had 85,000 miles on, I put a new turbo on at this point, air mass meter and coolant temp sensor. | Around a 10,000 miles ago I had AP performance springs and dampers fitted as the originals had gone a bit soft. At the same time I fitted an Allard EGR delete kit which improves fuel economy and stops dirty diesel smoke entering the inlet manifold. | The car is fully loaded and includes: | Electric windows | Automatic Climate control with air con and a electric sunroof (very rare to have both) Air con was Ice cold and have never had any problems. | Central locking with remote key fob (Two keys, both with remote fobs) | Cruise control | CD player | Trip computer | Centre arm rest | Electric and heated mirrors | Rear head rest and 3 full rear belts | 6 SPEED Gearbox with no crunches or wines. | Engine Code: AJM 115BHP | The car easly does 500-550 miles per tank of fuel which works out to around 50MPG. I have seen it as high as 60MPG on a long run. | The body work on the car is excellent with only very minor scuffs and scratches. The only two noticeable marks on the car is a slight bit of rust on the passengers side front arch and the boot lid has the common bubbling around the handle and a 8in scratch on the boot lid its self. These are both very minor bits that could easily be tidied up. It also has a small area of scratches on the drives door which looks like somebody has been rubbing up it with something. This looks like it would polish out with a machine polisher. As you can see from the pictures it really is in fantastic condition. The interior I would give an 8.5 out of 10 with only a few scratches to the drivers door plastic where the controls are. Again a common occurrence due to the material it is made out of. If you were really picky you can buy these from VW for around £20. Other than that I would like to see a cleaner interior on a MK4 golf. Before I bought the car I don`t think the rear seats had ever been sat on and the boot had never been used. Both are still in as new condition. | The wheels do not have any kerb marks on but a couple do have some slight corrosion (another common problem on VAG wheels. Again nothing which detracts from a fantastic car.) | Unfortunately last week on my way home from seeing some friends in Norfolk the car broke down with a suspected injector fault. The car was recovered and on inspection has damaged one of the big ends. I am selling the vehicle as spares or repairs which really breaks my heart has it was such a fantastic car until this happened. I would prefer to have it fixed but as I need a car I have already purchased a replacement as I could not wait. | The car is being sold on a spares or repair basis. Another MK4 golf with the same spec as this with as low miles fetches around the £3000.00 mark. A replacement engine is all that is needed which I have had quotes for around £500.00 | I have done my best to describe this vehicle as accurately and as honestly as I can, if you bid, you bid to buy regardless of what you find when you get here.
